The World Wide Web has brought many benefits to the children and young people in the world. With these benefits come various threats one of which is cyberbullying, which is defined as the use of digital media devices and platforms such as cellphones, laptops, social media applications to harass, hurt, attack another in order to provoke, anger or humiliate them. Examples of cyberbullying include sending hurtful texts or instant messages, posting embarrassing photos or video on social media, and spreading mean rumours online or with cell phones and other digital media devices.

Who we are

We had to experience it ourselves for us to realise there is a real problem with kids having either a cellphone or being on social media. Unfortunately we are not able to protect our little ones online. The world is rapidly digitising everything around us and communication is an important aspect we need in our daily lives, which is why we give our kids the phones right? Social media itself is entertaining to say the least but what can we do to protect our little ones from cyberbullying? That’s why we exist.

What We Do

Cyberbullying, unlike traditional bullying, is more public and can even result in hundreds even thousands of people contributing to the cyberbullying. The bullying can also easily go from the online spaces to offline world where it can then take the form of physical harm. This often leads to self-harm, low self of esteem and in some tragic cases, suicide by the victims of this new form of cyberbullying. So, we developed an App that allows the user to get sufficient information around online violence and the help they can get. The app will allow the user to get automatic virtual counselling from our specialised child protection officers who will assess the matter and assist the child should they decide to report.
